TORONTO – The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Los Angeles Angels 4-3 in 10 innings on Friday, July 4, 2025, at 6:07 PM. The Blue Jays extended their winning streak to six games.

Myles Straw scored the winning run from second base on a throwing error by Angels pitcher Sam Bachman in the 10th inning.

Straw was the automatic runner at second to start the inning. Sam Bachman entered the game for the Angels and walked leadoff hitter Nathan Lukes, putting runners on first and second with nobody out for Ernie Clement. Clement hit a sacrifice bunt, and Bachman fielded the ball but overthrew first base, allowing Straw to score the winning run.

Blue Jays left-hander Eric Lauer had a strong start, retiring the first 12 Angels batters he faced before Jo Adell doubled to lead off the fifth inning. Adell was initially called out trying to advance but the call was overturned upon replay review.

Andrés Giménez injured his left ankle while trying to tag Adell during the play at second base. Giménez, who had previously missed time with the same injury, left the game after the sixth inning and was scheduled for an MRI.

Mike Trout and Taylor Ward hit back-to-back singles to chase Lauer in the seventh. Jo Adell then hit his tying three-run homer off reliever Nick Sandlin.
