The Atlanta Braves secured a six to four victory over the Washington Nationals on Friday night. Atlanta scored two runs in the thirteenth inning to finally defeat Washington. The win came after Braves closer Craig Kimbrel blew a save opportunity by allowing the Nationals to tie the game with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Atlanta's win allowed them to move ahead of Washington and take sole possession of first place in the National League East division standings.
